Women are the backbone of society in DR Congo. The Women of Congo (WOC) program aims to help heal physical, emotional, and spiritual wounds while providing practical literacy, arts, and vocational skills training.

The tangible results of our efforts are gender equality, culture change in the mental perception of women, and the improvement of family living conditions.

A week-long pastry training was held with trainer Rose Marie, who trained in transformational leadership at Un Jour Nouveau (UJN). The women were trained in a newly renovated kitchen that was completed thanks to the generosity of a few donors with designated giving to women’s programs.

Interestingly, the week following the training, one of the women had already requested her completion certificate as she had just been hired as a baker in a supermarket in Goma. Two additional women have directly launched an activity of production of cakes that they offer to the city's Supermarkets to be sold.

It blesses us to see women who previously lived in misery manage to contribute to the expenses of their families. This could not be possible without the assistance of our supporter’s financial gifts and prayer.

You can help us expand programs focused on women by donating to Africa New Day.
