Update: The ‘Forgotten Crisis’ is still raging in Eastern Congo.   

It has been ten months since the resurgence of the M23 rebel group and the repercussions are  still reverberating throughout Eastern Congo. We are grateful that, at present, the city of Goma and the close surrounding areas are not directly in conflict. However, reports of continued fighting with different rebel groups persist as the nation fights for the right to thrive and be free of the war.

2023 First Quarter Impact Report

In the first quarter of 2023 we had 1443 children in school

600+ children in displacement camps to be educated on-site and plans in place for reintegration into long term schooling. 

Over 15,000 displaced people served by our team. 

1848 men and women attended programs and training.

Update: Eastern Congo Crisis

The hope was that it would be a temporary situation where the government and international community would bring the turmoil to a halt and life would return to normal. That children could attend school again, adults would return to work, and the rhythm of the community and the positive transformation of the people would continue.
