Reaching Across the Country

Testimony from a radio listener in Kinshasa:

Hello Pastor Camille and thank you very much for answering me.

In fact, I was talking about the situations in my life that seem incapable of being rectified and I was ready to commit suicide. I was tired of life. I have been married for 17 years, have 3 children and I can say that my overall situation is good but my relationship with my husband is complicated.

One of the big issues is that it has been 10 years since I finished my studies, and I can't find a job. I thought that if maybe I had a job, it could help me with all the stress I have at home but unfortunately, I have not been able to find work. When I go and look for work,  I am either asked for sexual favors, given meaningless appointments, or too much stress in my head.

I was really tired but I followed your radio program and I felt like it was God talking to me.

Your program gave me hope and strength. In the past my husband and his friends devalued me and reduced me to nothing.  Listening to your program changed all that.

Today I thank God, and I am gradually beginning to walk with the Lord. I believe that He knows me, hears my prayers and that He will help me.

But that day I first listened to your radio program, you helped me a lot.

I started listening at 1am or 2am, when my husband was not home and it had been about 3 days since he had come home. I could not sleep, that's when I started listening.

I say Pastor, it really helped me. I don't think I'll have suicidal thoughts anymore.

I was so anxious and stressed that I was on the verge of killing myself.  Because I told myself that there is no point in living. You are alive and you are useless, and you cannot help. You have a husband who has money, but he doesn't support you in any way.

I was desperate but thank you that’s all I can tell you. Besides, I am at a loss for words, and I'm always moved but it's okay.

You really have words that have touched me. You know how to put the right words; you know how to comfort people and how to console them.

May God truly bless you.

Thanks, Pastor.
